A characteristic type of vessel that we can see it even today in the island of Lesvos. His name comes from the diminutive of "Perama" as it presents common resemblances with this type of vessel .
So as in "Perama" and here as well, the gunwales stop before the cutwater and sternpost, but however without the characteristic " counter " of the cutwater of the "Perama" vessel.
Another characteristic is that, in "Peramatake” there is an extension of the deck up to the external surfaces of the cutwater and sternpost. The extension of the deck follow 2-3 more planks of the planking (of the hull), before it’s completion with the traditional way.
It can reach the 25 feet long and its use is mainly for coastal fishery.
The specific model is rigged with a simple form of “Lateen sail”.
