The ''half models"  were constructed  by the shipbuilder  and  it was a 3d  icon of a large vessel  usually in 1:20 scale. The main purpose was to be an agreement between the shipbuilder and the owner who now had a "picture"  of his need.

In our days the "half models"  is a practice  in ship modeling and  painted they can be part of  the decoration   in  ships  and  houses.

The model on the left is "Gaeta" from Hydra Greek island  and the model on the right is a "Trehantiri" vessel  as a "gre-gre" boat  of fishing
